Meet & Greet FAQs

Meeting Lyv sounds great but you want to know a little bit more first? No problem! Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions.

And if you don’t find the answer you’re looking for don’t hesitate to contact Lyv to ask her directly, either by using the comment section in the questionnaire or her contact form.

Reasons to meet

Why should we meet Lyv and what’s in it for our members?

Reading is a wonderful way to spend your time. Discussing the books you read with your friends even more so! But what would make it even more special?

Having the author of one of your Book Club reads meet you and answer all your burning questions, of course!

It’s a unique way to deepen your connection to a book - and its author.

Why? Ask yourself this:

Have you ever wondered why an author decided to write a book from a certain perspective? What was their inspiration or motivation to write this book? How does their creative process work?

This is your chance to get answers to all these (and more!) questions!

And what’s in it for Lyv?

In case you are wondering what’s in it for Lyv, here’s a personal note from her:

Of course, I’m eager to hear your opinions about my book(s) and discuss all the topics you’re interested in!

But as a writer, I also constantly soak up inspiration from everything around me - most importantly, the people I meet. You’ll be a significant part of my journey as an author!

And you never know, maybe you can provide me with just the insight I need for another book, and you’ll find your name in the Acknowledgments of one of my next works!

Requirements

What does it cost to meet Lyv?

Nothing!

The video meet & greet is completely free for you and your Book Club.

What do we need to do to qualify?

It’s simple: Just pick one of Lyv’s books to read and discuss in your Book Club in 2025.

That’s really all the requirements for this!

Do we need to read all of Lyv’s books?

No, you don’t have to read all Couples & Crime books to qualify for a meeting.

Lyv recommends reading the books in order, of course - but you don’t even need to do that. Both books feature stand-alone crime cases. And although characters from Generational Payment make an appearance in Pieces of a Murder the focus is on different couples.

Do we need a minimum amount of members?

No, your Book Club doesn’t need to have a minimum amount of members.

Whether you’re just two or three friends reading and discussing books together, or you are a group of twenty or more doesn’t matter. What matters is that we all love books and enjoy talking about them.

Is there a maximum amount of members?

If it was up to Lyv, there’s no cap as to how many members your Book Club can have for this or who can join the meeting.

However, technology needs to be taken into account. That means the maximum account of participants (for a meeting set up by Lyv) would be 100 people, i.e. 9 9 guests plus Lyv.

Please also consider whether such a large meeting would truly benefit your members because not everybody might be able to ask all their questions during the meeting, and Lyv would hate to disappoint those who missed their chance to talk with her.

What kind of tech do we need? Do we have to be on camera?

A meet & greet with Lyv will be in the form of an online video meeting.

Most of us are probably set up for that by now. You’ll need a computer (or your smartphone) with a stable internet connection and speakers so you can hear Lyv.

Then it’s up to you whether you want to be able to be seen or heard. In that case you’ll also need a webcam and or a microphone. Otherwise you can participate in the discussion by writing in the chat, for example.

How it works in Detail

Now how do we get started with the meet & greet?

You’ve decided to meet Lyv, that’s awesome! She’s excited to talk to you!

To make this happen, just fill out the questionnaire here.

Answer as best as you can - but don’t worry, Lyv will get in touch with you to confirm the details. Should anything like the time change, she’ll do her best to accommodate you.

We have a date and time, but what about setting up the meeting?

Now that you and Lyv agreed on a date and time, it’s time for some tech talk.

There’s a question in the questionnaire about who should set up the meeting.

Lyv herself or her publisher Tuxtails Publishing of course will be happy to set up a video meeting and provide you with the link to join. We will try to work with your preference in case you have one.

But maybe you run a Book Club that meets online and you already have a dedicated meeting set up - in that case, you could just invite Lyv as a guest.

It’s up to you - there’ll be a solution that works for everybody!

How long will a meeting with Lyv be?

That’s mainly up to you - Lyv would be delighted to join you for 10 minutes or up to 60 minutes.

Just keep in mind that some meeting solutions have a time cap for their meetings. Lyv will discuss this with you during the planning phase.

It’s time to meet - what happens now?

When it’s time to meet Lyv, you just get comfortable and join the video meeting.

Lyv will be there waiting for you - or join your meeting, depending on what you discussed before.

Depending on the call size, Lyv might rope in some help in the form of somebody from her publisher or maybe her husband to support her, e.g. checking for questions submitted via chat so we don’t accidentally miss a question or comment.

At the end of the meeting, Lyv will say her goodbyes. If there are any open questions left, or you or one of your members come up with something else to ask only after the meeting, you can always reach out to Lyv via her website, though!

Who will run the meeting?

Before the meeting, we’ll have talked about a technical moderator, sure.

But when it comes to the actual meeting and its structure, that’s up to you to decide. You know how your usual Book Club meetings go. Do you want Lyv there for the entire Book Club meeting? Do you want her to join for part of it? Do you have a discussion structure in place?

Lyv will happily follow your lead - you know your Book Club best!

Neither Lyv nor Tuxtails Publishing will try to dictate you how to run your Book Club.

But if you would prefer Lyv (or one of her helpers) to take the lead and guide you through introductions, discussions, and all your questions, she can also easily do that.

You can discuss this in advance with her.

Can we also talk about…

… more than one book?

Some or all of you read all of Lyv’s books and would love to talk about them?

Of course you can! If you know this in advance, consider letting Lyv know about it. It might be easier to set up separate meetings or to plan for one longer meeting, so you have enough time to talk about each book.

Please just be considerate when it comes to spoilers in case not everybody read the other book. Otherwise, you can of course ask her questions about her other books, too.

If you’re wondering about the question in the application form now - that’s there so Lyv can send you the correct discussion guide, if you’d like to have one.

… what will end up on social media?

An excellent question!

Lyv assures you that nothing you don’t agree to will end up on her social media profiles or her website.

She might mention an interesting meeting with amazing book lovers - but if you don’t agree, she won’t mention your Book Club or its members by name, nor will she tag you in a post without your permission.

She will ask before a meeting if it’s okay to take screenshots - and if she does, she’ll ask later whether it’s okay to use them. The same goes for recordings of any meeting.

Lyv hopes you will extend the same courtesy to her and the other participants. If you take a screenshot or record a meeting in any form, please make sure everybody is okay with it and with you using the images/videos.

Please note, Lyv is not responsible for other parties actions and their use of any photo or video material taken during a meet & greet.

All that being said, please feel free to tell everybody that you’re meeting Lyv, and also feel free to post before or after the meeting.
